The Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon (CSC Nouvelon) and Our Children, Our Future / Nos enfants, notre avenir (OCOF/Nena), are pleased to announce the expansion of childcare services at École St-Thomas in Warren.

Already present at the school through EarlyON programming, OCOF/Nena will expand its services as of September 1, 2026, by operating a full-time licensed childcare centre as well as the before and after school program for school-aged children.

Thanks to funding from Canadian Heritage, renovation work will be completed to integrate a new full-time Frenchlanguage childcare centre within the school. This centre will be able to accommodate 15 children aged 0 to 4, and its official opening is planned for the start of the 2026–2027 school year.

This initiative also benefits from the support of the Manitoulin-Sudbury District Services Board under the Canada-wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) system. The Manitoulin-Sudbury District Services Board supports the development of accessible, high-quality licensed childcare services for families in Warren.

“The expansion of childcare services at École St-Thomas marks an important step in supporting the growing needs of ffamilies in the region. Through our collaboration with Our Children Our Future / Nos enfants, notre avenir, we are offering families access to full-time childcare services as well as high-quality French-language Catholic education within our school, thereby helping to build a strong sense of belonging to CSC Nouvelon from early childhood onward,” said Mr. Tom Michaud, Director of Education at CSC Nouvelon.

“We are pleased to expand our partnership with CSC Nouvelon and to continue the work begun through the EarlyON services we already offer at École St-Thomas. The addition of full-time licensed childcare services will provide families in Warren with more opportunities to access learning and childcare services within their school community. At OCOF/Nena, we are proud to support children and families by creating welcoming spaces where young learners can thrive,” said France Gauthier, Executive Director, Our Children, Our Future / Nos enfants, notre avenir (OCOF/Nena).

Plans are also underway to establish an English-language childcare centre within the school. This additional centre is expected to accommodate 15 children, with a projected opening toward the end of 2026 or early 2027.

Additional information regarding registration will be shared with families as the opening date approaches.
